Look for a 15% off sitewide discount, as well as generous deals on electronics and outerwear.

Target Cyber Monday

In the past few years, Target has become a big force on Cyber Monday. Last year, we saw more Editors’ Choice deals from Target during its Cyber Monday sale than during its Black Friday sale. If you’re looking to snag cyber savings from the store with the big red bullseye, here’s everything you need to know.

When Will the Target Cyber Monday Sale Start?

Expect Cyber Monday deals to begin on the Sunday before Cyber Monday, which is November 26.

When Is the Best Time to Shop?

Sunday is most likely the best time to shop. The past two years have seen a 15% off sitewide discount (once via coupon, once automatically applied in-cart), and Target has already announced that this will happen again.

The past two years have seen a 15% off sitewide discount during Target’s Cyber Monday sale.

General discounts like these are extremely unusual for Target and seem to be specially saved for Cyber Monday. You’re best off hitting the store as soon as the extra discount goes live.

Does the Sale Continue Into Cyber Week?

Not really. Though some deal prices may remain live, you won’t want to miss out on the extra discount, which is historically only offered on Sunday and Monday.

What Will Be on Sale?

While nearly everything in Target will be discounted (with the exception of a few categories, such as CVS pharmacy and Google items), you can count on a few product types to get particularly deep discounts.

For example, expect excellent deals on electronics. One of the hottest offers last year was an Amazon Fire 8GB 7″ tablet for $28. That was $5 under Amazon’s Black Friday price! We also saw good deals on the Nest Learning Thermostat, TVs, and more.

You’ll find solid offers on holiday decor, too. Last year we saw sets of 100 string lights for as low as $4, with a stacking coupon that took $10 off $50 spent in the holiday store.

Toys and gaming is another category to watch. In 2016, Target offered multiple Editors’ Choice deals on consoles and many excellent toy deals.

We also hope to see a repeat of last year’s excellent sale on outerwear — 40% off coats for men, women, and kids (plus that extra 15% off). That’s a deep discount for November.

Special Tips for Shopping the Target Cyber Monday Sale

Keep an eye out for gift cards! Target has a history of offering gift cards to sweeten deals, and that extra incentive can easily push an offer from “maybe” to “must buy.”

Target REDcard holders may get early access to special events and promotions this year.

Also, while Target REDcard holders always save an extra 5% at Target, the REDcard page now claims that a “new benefit” for cardholders is early access to special events and promotions. This could mean early access to Cyber Monday sales as well, although we’ll have to see.

Amazon Had Another Record-Breaking Prime Day

Another year, another Prime Day record.

This week’s two-day “parade of deals” marked the largest shopping event in Amazon history, according to the company.

From July 15 to 16, sales surpassed the previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined, counting more than 175 million items purchased throughout the event.

Prime Day, which promises exclusive deals for subscribers, was also a hit with Amazon devices; top-selling deals globally include Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, and Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote.

“We want to thank Prime members all around the world,” CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement.

“Members purchased millions of Alexa-enabled devices, received tens of millions of dollars in savings by shopping from Whole Foods Market, and bought more than $2 billion of products from independent small and medium-sized businesses,” he boasted. “Huge thank you to Amazonians everywhere who made this day possible for customers.”

I mean, maybe not the warehouse workers in Minnesota, who planned to strike during the shopping extravaganza.

Employees at a Shakopee fulfillment center arranged a six-hour work stoppage on July 15—day one of the retail giant’s 48-hour summer sale.

Ultimately, Prime members in 18 countries saved more than $1 billion on millions of items shipped in one day or less (making this the fastest-ever Prime Day).

Amazon also welcomed more new Prime members on July 15 than any previous day (ever), and almost as many on July 16.

In the US alone, folks purchased more than 100,000 lunchboxes, 100,000 laptops, 200,000 TVs, 300,000 headphones, 350,000 luxury beauty products, 400,000 pet products, 650,000 household cleaning supplies, and more than 1 million toys.

As part of the company’s 20th anniversary, Amazon launched Prime Day in 2015, hoping to entice buyers with discount prices on a scale you’d expect to see only around the holidays.

The inaugural event—a mix of “Deals of the Day” and “Lightning Deals”—lasted 24 hours. Prime Day 2017 boasted 30 hours of deals, and last year, Prime members had a record 36 hours to shop.

At this rate, the 2024 affair will last all week.

Next month’s Amazon Prime Day 2019 will be a two-day parade of deals.

The annual sale kicks off at midnight PT on Monday, July 15, and—for the first time ever—runs for a full 48 hours.

Subscribers have two days to shop more than 1 million deals, including limited-time offers and exclusive launches. (I am most looking forward to stocking up on discounted Alexa-enabled devices.)

“Get ready, as we pull back the curtain to reveal exclusive products, special performances, and two full days of phenomenal deals this Prime Day,” Jeff Wilke, CEO of worldwide consumer at Amazon, said in a statement.

Mark-downs apply to Prime members the world over: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, the United Arab Emirates (new this year), the UK, and the US.

To participate, sign up online to join Prime or start a 30-day free trial.

“Our vision is that Prime Day should be the absolute best time to be a member,” Wilke said. “When you can enjoy shopping, savings, entertainment, and some of the best deals Prime members have ever seen.”

Whether you brazenly browse on the office computer, hide your habits in a bathroom stall, or take a “sick day” to stay home and spend money, Amazon encourages buyers to remain alert.

You don’t have to wait three weeks for the deals roll in, though.

Starting today, Prime members can save $120 on a Toshiba HD 43-inch Fire TV Edition Smart TV—now only $179.99 (through June 30, or while supplies last).

Also available now: Alexa-compatible Jabra Elite85h wireless headphones with SmartSound and the iOttie Easy One Touch Connect smartphone car mount.

Plus, members can gear up for Prime Day in-home deliveries with 40 percent off the Key for Garage myQ Smart Garage Hub + Amazon Cloud Cam (Key Edition) kit, on sale for the reasonable price of $99.98.

Last year, Prime members had a record 36 hours to shop.

At this rate, the 2024 affair will last all week.

“Stay tuned as we reveal exclusive savings at Whole Foods Market, thousands of new product launches, as well as world-class entertainment and more, leading up to Prime Day,” Wilke said.
