What to Expect From Best Buy Cyber Monday Sales in 2017

Code: HOLIDAYLS. 10% Off Laptop Battery Chargers, Adapters Code HOLIDAYLS thru 1/3/2018!

Best Buy Cyber Monday

Best Buy is one of the best places to snag high-tech deals during the holiday season, and Cyber Monday is a great time to buy. While Thanksgiving had the most sales last year, Cyber Monday came in a very close second. That means even if you missed Thanksgiving and Black Friday, you still have plenty of opportunities to bag a bargain at Best Buy.

Here’s everything you need to make the most of Best Buy’s Cyber Week sales.

When Will the Best Buy Cyber Monday Sale Start?

Just as not all Black Friday sales start on Friday, not all Cyber Monday deals start on Monday. Expect Best Buy’s sitewide Cyber Monday sale to kick off early Sunday morning around 6 am ET. (Some individual deals may pop up even earlier in the morning.)

My Best Buy Elite members got a 3-hour head start on the sales last year, but Elite access requires spending $1,500 per year at Best Buy — and we wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to qualify for such a slight advantage.

When Is the Best Time to Shop?

Sunday will be the biggest day for Cyber Monday sales, accounting for more than half of Cyber Week’s deals. Sales will go live throughout the day, from around 2 am to midnight on Sunday, and they’ll continue all week long.

While there isn’t any one particularly good time to look up sales, you will want to check the Best Buy website at least once a day. On both Sunday and Monday, sales lasted just one day on average. While these online-only Cyber Monday sales don’t have any literal doorbusters, the best deals have limited quantities — when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Does the Sale Continue Into Cyber Week?

While sales on Sunday and Monday come and go quickly, some will linger through the week to follow — and about a third of the week’s sales don’t start until Tuesday or later.

About a third of Cyber Week sales don’t start until Tuesday or later.

While latecomers to the week’s sales can still find deals, the best discounts will be on Sunday. Expect most of the Editors’ Choice deals to start on Sunday — and sell out on Sunday or Monday. But even if you miss out on the Sunday sales, you’re still likely to catch sales that started on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, many of which will continue through Cyber Week.

What Will Be on Sale?

Sales at Best Buy are all about electronics. It’s a broad category, and you’ll find sales across the map. However, our favorite Cyber Monday (and Cyber Week) sales last year were on televisions, which included a 65″ Toshiba 4K UHD Smart TV for $600 — a $300 discount and the best price we’d seen on similar models to date.

But if you aren’t looking for a huge TV, more modest sets were on offer, too, with Editors’ Choice deals on televisions from 32″ (a Westinghouse 720p LED LCD for $65) and up. We expect this year to continue Best Buy’s trend of top TV deals.

Smartphones are another good buy, and though you won’t have your pick of models or carriers — most of Best Buy’s smartphone deals last year required a 2-year contract with Verizon — there are quite a few bargains.

The best deals will be on older models, but you’re likely to see at least one recently released Android smartphone. Last year we saw the iPhone 6s for $1 and the recently released Google Pixel bundled with a $100 Best Buy gift card for $240. Look for similar sales this year, perhaps including deals on the iPhone 7.

Video game consoles can also be a good buy. Last year’s sales focused on the PlayStation. The just-released PlayStation 4 Pro got a minor discount, while the slightly older PlayStation 4 Slim 500GB console (bundled with two games) sold for $225 (a full $100 less than similar bundles). This year, the Xbox One X is being released just before Black Friday, so there’s a chance we may see similar deals on the previous-generation Xbox One S — or deeper cuts on the aging PlayStation 4 lineup.

You’ll find few sales on computers and tablets at Best Buy throughout Cyber Week. If that’s what you’re shopping for, look elsewhere.

But Cyber Monday (and the following week) isn’t the best time to buy everything. You’ll find few sales on computers and tablets at Best Buy throughout Cyber Week. Camera, camcorder, and appliance deals are also scarce — or non-existent — at Best Buy during Cyber Week. If that’s what you’re shopping for, look elsewhere.

Tips for Shopping the Best Buy Cyber Monday Sale

The most important thing to remember with your Cyber Monday shopping is that you may need to act fast. Sunday will have more sales than any day other than Thanksgiving, and most will be gone before Cyber Monday even arrives. The best deals will have limited quantities and won’t last longer than a day, so if you see something you want you’ll need to jump on it.

Last year, getting the best price on items required stacking sales with a promotion from Visa Checkout that offered $25 off purchases of $100 or more when checking out with the service. We’ve seen similar deals at Best Buy this year, so there’s a chance this discount may return — but if it does, be aware that it’s an extra step (and you’ll probably only have one chance to use it).

Best Buy is certain to offer plenty of tempting deals this year, so get ready to camp out in front of your computer, with one finger hovering above the “reload” button. Hopefully, you’ll be able to grab the deals you want before they’re gone!

Geek’s Guide to Amazon Prime Day 2018

Replacement Laptop Batteries For Dell, Free Shipping!

Amazon Prime Day (and a half) doesn’t officially kick off until 3 p.m. ET today.

But, in an everlasting effort to attract shoppers and encourage Prime memberships, the e-retailer is offering some early-bird deals.

In the market for a home assistant or new tablet? Amazon is already providing “double the deals” on Alexa-enabled products like Echo, Fire TV, and Fire tablets, as well as new categories from home security to touchscreen devices.

If you’re not already a Prime member, now’s a great time to sign up for a 30-day free trial.

The annual event promises 36 hours of deals for techies, beauty fans, gamers, kids, home chefs, bookworms, fitness buffs, DIYers, athletes, and other stereotypes.

This year, members can explore deals online, on the go (via the Amazon app), or in person at Whole Foods Market, Amazon Books, Amazon Pop-Up locations, and Treasure Truck (which is apparently “a new way to shop with Amazon”).

The online giant’s yearly rollbacks aren’t the only annual deductions, though: Since 1952, Black Friday—the day after Thanksgiving in the US—has marked the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

But it’s never too early to start buying gifts.

There are still a few hours before the feeding frenzy begins. To minimize frustration, add products to your shopping list (if they’re included in Prime Day, you’ll receive a notification) and keep personal information (i.e. credit card details) up to date.

Die-hard deal getters should also prepare for long hours in front of a computer or phone screen. And remember to always shop around—other retailers have promised to price match Prime Day discounts.

Die-hard Prime Dayers should also prepare for long hours (you’ll have to sacrifice a little sleep for the full experience), and don’t feel guilty for shopping around.
