Promo code is not required. The deal is available for all customers. The giftcard costs $96 (the original price is $144).

In the market for a budget gaming laptop? Check out the 15.6-inch Inspiron 15 7000 from Dell. Not only does it ship with a quad-core Kaby Lake CPU, an awesome GTX 1060 graphics card, and a full HD display, but you can save over 200 bucks with today’s sale.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming quad-core 15.6-inch Kaby Lake laptop for $881.99 (List price: $1099.99)

Inspiron 15

Inside, it sports a seven generation quad-core 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, a discrete Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card (with 6GB of memory), 8GB of DDR4 RAM (2400MHz), a 128GB solid-state drive, a 1TB 5400RPM hard drive, Bluetooth 4.2, and 802.11b/g/n/ac WiFi support.

As for the 15.6-inch display, it features LED backlighting, in-plane switching, an anti-glare coating, and a full HD resolution of 1920×1080. And if you want to hook up to your television or PC monitor for a big screen experience, the HDMI port on the side makes that process easy as pie.

From a portability perspective, this model measures an inch thick and weighs in at 5.82 pounds. Thanks to the four-cell 56WHr integrated battery, you can get a surprising amount of use on a single charge. Your battery certainly won’t last for a cross-coast flight if you’re pushing the GPU/CPU to the limit, but this beefy battery is still nothing to sneeze at. And with the full-size keyboard (with number pad) and a sizable touchpad, you can play hard and work hard even when you’re away from your desk.

Windows 10 Home (64-bit) comes installed by default, so you’ll benefit from Microsoft’s awesome new gaming features. Exclusive Windows Store releases (like Gears of War 4), console cross-play on select titles, DirectX 12, Xbox One controller support, and local Xbox One game streaming make this an incredible operating system for gamers.

With a total discount of $218 in play , you’re only paying $881.99 for this superb laptop. And while it can never go toe-to-toe with a full-size dedicated gaming PC, there is more than enough horsepower here to comfortably run your favorite games when you’re on the go.

Note: Dell lists this as the member price, but we’ve been able to get the discount during guest checkout. Regardless, the membership program is free to join.

Geek’s Guide to Amazon Prime Day 2018

Amazon Prime Day (and a half) doesn’t officially kick off until 3 p.m. ET today.

But, in an everlasting effort to attract shoppers and encourage Prime memberships, the e-retailer is offering some early-bird deals.

In the market for a home assistant or new tablet? Amazon is already providing “double the deals” on Alexa-enabled products like Echo, Fire TV, and Fire tablets, as well as new categories from home security to touchscreen devices.

If you’re not already a Prime member, now’s a great time to sign up for a 30-day free trial.

The annual event promises 36 hours of deals for techies, beauty fans, gamers, kids, home chefs, bookworms, fitness buffs, DIYers, athletes, and other stereotypes.

This year, members can explore deals online, on the go (via the Amazon app), or in person at Whole Foods Market, Amazon Books, Amazon Pop-Up locations, and Treasure Truck (which is apparently “a new way to shop with Amazon”).

The online giant’s yearly rollbacks aren’t the only annual deductions, though: Since 1952, Black Friday—the day after Thanksgiving in the US—has marked the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

But it’s never too early to start buying gifts.

There are still a few hours before the feeding frenzy begins. To minimize frustration, add products to your shopping list (if they’re included in Prime Day, you’ll receive a notification) and keep personal information (i.e. credit card details) up to date.

Die-hard deal getters should also prepare for long hours in front of a computer or phone screen. And remember to always shop around—other retailers have promised to price match Prime Day discounts.

Die-hard Prime Dayers should also prepare for long hours (you’ll have to sacrifice a little sleep for the full experience), and don’t feel guilty for shopping around.

Thankfully, you don’t even need to own an Android tablet or smartphone to get started. If you have a PC, all you need is some free software, some spare time, and this $10 course.

Once you’ve created something you’re proud of, you’re going to need to get the word out. In 2016, that means understanding the intricacies of social media marketing. And even if none of that excites you, there’s plenty of other options available. “Blender unleashed” by Brandon Hix will teach you the basics of 3D modeling. The “Complete Adobe Premiere Pro video editing course” by Phil Ebiner is a great primer on the ins and outs of video editing. And if you need to boost your productivity, try the “Get stuff done” course by Charity Cason.
